All referral coupons generated through "Automagic" functionality will be automatically created in your Ecwid by Lightspeed store with "new customers" attribute. Hence the referral coupon code can only be used by new customers and not by any existing customers.
Note: 'New customer', is a user who is making her first purchase on your Ecwid by Lightspeed store. A user who may have signed up (i.e. created an account) on your Ecwid by Lightspeed store but not yet made their first purchase are a 'new customer'. They are converted from "New Customer" to "Repeat Customer" status after they make their first purchase. Accordingly, if you have activated 'Referral' in 'Gratisfaction'--> 'Loyalty and Referral' tab, a user can register on your store, then grab the referral coupon which they will receive through the Gratisfaction app and use it for their first purchase. Although they can use this coupon code, they will not be counted towards the referral count. And, additionally, they can share this coupon code with all of their friends inviting them to make a purchase on your store.
